Born in 1980, JK stands 6' 2", 280 lbs. Some might say he's a big guy, while others say he's too small. All I got to say is that I'm just right for me. (No fat jokes please) Okay, enough of the third person narrative schtick ... time for it to be all me.

Ever since I was a kid, I dug drawing. My parents (Kern & Robin) have told me several times, the story about the first drawing I ever brought him from school. "It looked like shit!" my father would exclaim, causing the two to laugh at me uncontrollably. Okay, so I didn't ooze talent out of the gate. But thankfully, my parents (back when I brought home that very first picture from school) were very incouraging, pushing me to continue creating with pen and paper.

So, kept drawing. Moving a lot while growing up, my love for drawing opened doors socially in school, which otherwise would never have been there. I didn't walk through too many doors, because I've always enjoyed being rather antisocial, but they were there.

While going through school, I didn't really begin to see any true improvment in my work until I moved out here, Sacramento, California. Placed in an advanced art class, the culture shock from previously living in places like Michigan, Texas, and Nebraska, really opened my eyes to the various styles of art that were out there. Styles like anime, which I had never heard of until a classmate Corey (a nice dude covered in goth from head to toe, save a strand of purple hair) let me borrow "The Ghost In The Shell".

I'm not a hick, there's just been stuff I'd never heard off or seen. Sue me. I've always been a fan of comic book artwork (never buying a comic for the story), and I've dug perusing the funnies in the paper. And, although I dug both, up until late '99... the desire for me to do a comic strip never hit. So when I told people I was interested in putting together a daily strip, they were a bit surprised. Especially since I'd always talked about putting out my own comic books (of which I still plan to do).

As of '98, I've also started getting into writing more, having started about 8 different movie scripts, all of which aren't even close to being halfway done. Heh, but hopefully that'll change once I decide what it is I can do with them.

Blah, what else can I say? I like designing websites, reading scripts, watching TV, stand up comedy (cuz I think I'm funny), all kinds of music, and uh... sleeping. I can't dance, I can't sing ... but when I'm out of my mind, or just don't care, I can make a complete fool out of myself. Believe it.

That's about it. I can't think of anything else to say to yas, so... if you have any questions, or are a hot chick with a nude pic you want to send me, you can send me shtuff at jk@slackersnation.com. Hate mail is cool too! =0D

Hasta,
JK
